Tremor
Walnut ink & acrylic ink on mulberry paper, 19 x 13 x 1.5" (framed), 2018, $850
This imagery reverberates with musical energy, with filmic vibrations, as though the land, the mountain, the referenced landscape shakes from movement - or perhaps from awakening? The land is our mother.
Art is the foundation of my life. I am a painter, a collector, a seeker of vivid expressions of humanity. I see curiosity as an impetus to go deeper creatively, to explore ideas and investigate meaning. Whether actively engaged in fine art as a professional passion or simply experiencing daily life as a maker, I’m inspired by the promise of creative freedom and fascinated by the process of surrender necessary to access that potential. My artistic philosophy is to let stories unfold, rather than to focus on generating any particular pre-conceived output, allowing intuition and spontaneity to flourish.
I have been a practicing artist for over 25 years. I am a painter and printmaker, but mostly, I am a bit of a mad scientist in the studio. I love to experiment and to deeply explore different subjects, methods and materials. I have shown and sold my work widely, taken many workshops and attended a few residencies. My work is generally very colorful, greatly influenced by what I observe and experience in the world around me, and highly expressive of my love of life.
