Photography has graciously given me a vehicle to recount my human experience in things that draw their attention to me.When I take a photograph I simultaneously capture my experience at that moment and the essence of what I’m viewing. I combine these experiences - photographs from disparate places, from times long ago or recent, subjects far and wide - and bring them together in a kind of second act. This is a way for me to re-experience moments I lived over time, places I've stood. The collection of photographs moves any single image beyond the range of its own limits, and a transcendence happens. It becomes clear to me, at that moment of transcendence, a collaboration is taking place and the evolution of single moments emerge as one new existence. One only in relationship to each other.
I am a Seattle based artist exploring the non-representational possibilities of the human experience through photography. I studied Fine Art and Commercial Photography at the Academy of Art, San Francisco. I have worked with some aspect of creating photographic imagery my entire career - as a photographer, photo art director, creative director, film and video director and editor.
