Anne Randall
Sammamish, Washington
Curb Appeal
Sterling Silver, Felt, 18 inches, 2017
Home is still the little box house and lollipop tree of childhood drawings, with a fence and chimney. Pendant with appurtenant structures and landscaping is approximately 1.5 inches square.
I am a fabricator at heart and the construction process fascinates me. The problem-solving and essentials of process must satisfy some need to control and produce an outcome. In spite of that, my work process is seldom linear and the start of making often results in a new direction or an unexpected path. I like my work to incorporate some whimsy, a bit of snark, or something out of the ordinary.
Anne Randall is a corporate refugee who gleefully reinvented herself as an artist. Her focus is art jewelry and metalsmithing, with a stubborn tendency to investigate new things. She has studied extensively with master artists from throughout the United States and Europe, but she spends an inordinate amount of time in research and self-education..Anne exhibits and teaches in the Puget Sound region where she is also active in several arts groups.
