David is a Seattle-based artist who enjoys investigating themes of nature and daily life. His work is centered on expressive marks and observation sometimes with a dose of humor. He creates both abstract and representational works, using ink, acrylic paint and pastels mediums, Recent works have depicted digital devices.
David is also a book author and award-winning haiku poet.
Expressing thoughts in material and making ink bloom on paper are some of David's artistic motivations.
As part of his interest in nature, he recently went to the Chicago area to see the cicada mass emergence, which happens every 17 years.
David's background includes founding a radio theater comedy ensemble, writing about art for The Seattle Times, and book author. He graduated from Yale University, and lives in Seattle.
