The final drawing in the Messerschmidt series, congested and dense with imagery, symbolism, with cultural and political reference points, both contemporary and from history and works of art. Surfeit, waste, filth, and doom- the world we made, but the Earth wrangles on.This was a three year project.
I'm an artist whose been working here in Seattle since the 1990's.
Born in Cleveland Ohio, finished high school in Virginia after living in several states. Attended VCU in Richmond, VA, earning a BFA in Painting and Printmaking in 1985. Returned to UNC Chapel Hill to earn an MFA in Studio Art on a Merit Scholarship in 2001. exhibited throughout the US, internationally in Tofino and Amsterdam, and a number of galleries here in Seattle.
